Privacy notice
Last updated 18 October 2026.
This notice explains how Lead Wave Ltd ("Lead Wave", "we") uses information about you when you visit this website, contact us or become a client. We decide how that information is used, so we're the "controller" under UK data protection law. We're registered in England and Wales, company no. 13889468. You can reach us about anything on this page at info@leadwave.co.uk or on 07415 450751.
When you visit this website
Nothing you type on this website is sent to us. When you pick your trade and type your town, that text is only used to write a WhatsApp message on your own device. It reaches us only if you choose to send that message in WhatsApp. The free tools work the same way: your answers stay in your browser.
This website doesn't use cookies or advertising trackers.
Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address and browser details to send you the pages and to protect the site from attacks. We don't see or keep your IP address.
Counting visits. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you. It records things like which page was viewed, the website you came from, your country and your type of browser. When you tap a WhatsApp button, we also count the tap: which page and button it was, the first page you opened on this website, and the kind of site you came from (for example Google or Facebook). That count has no cookie, no IP address, nothing that identifies you and nothing you typed. To know where your visit started, the first page you open notes that page and the name of the website you came from in your browser's session storage. It stays on your device, isn't a cookie, and your browser deletes it when you close the tab.
We do this because we have a legitimate interest in knowing which pages help people get in touch. You can turn it off on this device at any time with the button below. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage. We also switch counting off by itself if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
When you contact us
If you message us on WhatsApp, call us or email us, we use your name, number, email and what you tell us to reply and, if you ask, to give you a price and check whether your area is free. The legal basis is taking steps you've asked for before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. If you message us straight after tapping a WhatsApp button, we may note which page you came from next to your enquiry, so we know which pages help. That note stays in our own records.
You don't have to give us any information, but we can't reply without a way to contact you. We never sell your information, and we don't make decisions about you by automated means alone.
If you become a client
To set up and run your service we use your contact details, business details, payment details, your Facebook page and the photos, logo and information you send us. We use them to build your ads, your lead form, your lead app and any website, to send texts to your enquiries in your name, to bill you, and to keep our accounts. The legal basis is our contract with you, and for accounts and tax records, our legal obligation.
Measuring results. To check your campaign is working, we read the conversations in your lead app for set periods and count replies and jobs. If we publish results, they're totals only. We never publish your customers' names, numbers or messages.
Quotes and results on this website. We may show short quotes from your messages to us, and results from your campaign, on this website. They're credited by your trade and area only, for example "Roofer, Blackpool". We never show your name, surname or business name. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in showing real results. If you'd rather yours wasn't shown, tell us and we'll take it down.
Who we share it with
We only share information with companies that help us run Lead Wave, and only what they need:
- Cloudflare, for website hosting and visit counting
- Meta, for WhatsApp messages, and Facebook for clients' ads and lead forms
- Stripe, for card payments
- Microsoft, for email
- Google, for documents and accounts records
- the provider of the lead app, which also sends the texts and follow-ups to clients' enquiries
- software we use to build and launch clients' ads, and to make ad images from the photos and logo clients send
- AI assistant services that help us read messages, draft replies and set up accounts, always under our control
- a messaging app for our own internal alerts
- our accountant, and anyone we're required to share with by law
Ask us and we'll tell you the name of any company on this list.
WhatsApp's own privacy policy also applies to messages sent through it.
Some of these companies are based in the United States or store data there. When information goes outside the UK, it's protected by the UK's data bridge with the US or by the UK's approved data transfer contracts.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become clients: up to 2 years after we last spoke, then deleted.
- Client records: while you're a client, then 6 years after you leave, because the law requires us to keep accounts and tax records for that long.
- Visit and tap counts: they don't identify anyone, so we keep them as totals.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete it
- stop or limit using it, including taking down a quote
- send it to you, or to another company, in a common format
You can object at any time to anything we do on the basis of legitimate interests. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email info@leadwave.co.uk. It's free, and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
